Welcome to Muse Academy of Music

“Education is not the filling of a bucket, but the lighting of a fire.” – W.B. Yeats

Welcome to Muse Academy of Music!  We strive to help students “find their muse” by inspiring creativity while providing exceptional music education.  More than just music lessons, we offer a collaborative and motivating learning environment.  We hope you will find our approach to music education refreshing and inspiring. Our convenient studio location in Rancho Bernardo is right off the I-15 and ideal for students coming from Rancho Bernardo, 4S Ranch, Poway, Rancho Pensasquitos, Scripps Ranch, Mira Mesa, Escondido, and all of North San Diego County.

Study with one of our highly qualified teachers on your instrument of choice, or let us help you or your child choose an instrument to get started.  We offer weekly private lessons for students of all ages and experience levels.  Our teachers help students master their instrument and provide expert guidance toward achieving their musical goals.

Our fun and motivating Badge Program is the heart of Muse Academy’s progress evaluation system.  The program is designed to motivate and inspire students by helping them set, pursue, and achieve their own creative goals.  As students make progress they will “level-up” their Muse, earning badges for completing creative projects, exploring music in the community, developing beneficial practice habits, and much more!

We encourage students to explore all areas of music, not just their chosen instrument.  Inspiration often comes from unexpected sources, and the more students explore, the more likely they will find something that sparks their muse.  We encourage students to pursue creative projects such as composing pieces, attending and writing about concerts, or creating recordings.  Students can also design their own projects with the guidance of their teachers.

Come together with your peers and join our rewarding small groups program.  Build teamwork skills, confidence, and leadership skills by rehearsing and performing together.  We match students by age and ability to provide an ideal learning environment.  Groups are coached by our faculty and provide a great opportunity to receive feedback from another teacher and to learn from each other.

Show off what you’ve learned at our yearly recitals in front of friends, family, and community!  These recitals are an excellent opportunity to learn from and inspire one another, and are a great way to develop confidence in one’s playing and in all areas of life.

One who has truly found inspiration will become a source of inspiration for others.  At Muse Academy, we want to help you “find your muse”, so that you, in turn, will become an inspiration to others.
