Ukulele Lessons at Muse Academy of Music
We are now offering ukulele lessons in our program, and we’re excited to introduce you or your child to the ukulele in a fun and inspiring environment! Taking ukulele lessons at Muse Academy offers a more flexible curriculum than the traditional instruments like Piano and Violin. Ukulele students can easily learn their favorite songs, which is great for keeping students inspired and interested in practicing. But, ukulele students here will not miss out on the fundamentals either. All students will be taught to read music, basic music theory, scales and proper technique.
Why Take Ukulele Lessons?
The ukulele has become an extremely popular instrument these days. It fits so well in a variety of musical styles from the traditional Hawaiian/Island styles to pop, mainstream or folk. You and your teacher can choose your favorite style and have a blast exploring your favorite music from any time period.
The layout of the ukulele makes it ideal for learning to play chords, which gives ukulele students the opportunity to learn about music theory and harmony in an intuitive and natural way, which typically develops much later on other instruments.
The ukulele can also sing! Melodies and scales fall into place naturally and students enjoy playing recognizable tunes right from the beginning.
Nothing is more engaging and inspiring than writing and performing your own music. It would be difficult to choose a better instrument than ukulele if you are interested in composing your own music. The ukulele lends itself very well to improvising, allowing students to easily try new things and explore new and exciting sounds and harmonies!

Our studio is in the beautiful Mercado Shopping Center, right in the heart of Rancho Bernardo. A busy family like yours can hit all their stops in one trip! We have Yoga next door, Karate and Barons Market downstairs. Plus, you can even grab some Frozen Yogurt as a treat for your kids after they do a great job at their guitar lesson!
Purchasing or Renting a Ukulele
If you don’t already have your own ukulele, we do have ukuleles available for use during your first lesson. From there, we can assist in the process of purchasing or renting a ukulele.
